Sisters bonding... even at a young age

Hannah asked if she could have a picnic with her sisters after nap time today. Of course I agreed as the girls will play longer on the floor if they have Hannah to stare at! (As you can see Brooke could care less about the toys... she barely took her eyes off of Hannah!)
And of course no picnic is complete without the clean up of baby puke! What a great Big sister Hannah is!

A small peek into our day...

Well a ray of hope for it to become easier this morning came along when Hannah requested to feed her sister! We've been careful not to push too much responsibility on Hannah since she is only 3 1/2, but when work is requested... work she shall get! Or fun as she sees it! Hannah was completely thrilled to feed her sister and I was completely thrilled to have help! She is such a little Mommy and I appreciate everything she does to help me during the day, binky hunting is Hannah's specialty!

As the girls become even more alert I have to become even more creative to keep them stimulated and occupied so I can do things with Hannah in addition to everything else required in being at home full time! Here they are just hanging out in the playpen outside while Hannah plays and I attempt to attack the weeds! Anyone who has been to our house lately knows that this is no small task! I am happy to report that even with infant twins and a preschooler I am making progress! Thank goodness the girls are summer babies and we can all be outside together!

Here we are even more creative then before as it was time for the girls to nap and Hannah wanted to go outside to swim. I think it's funny that even when we separate them they tend to lean towards each other in an attempt to be close even though it's impossible to touch each other! Their bond even now is incredible... I can only imagine it increases with time!

So here you can sort of see our set up as the whole family loves to spend summer days outside! While all of the above activities take place I am slowly making my way around the backyard pulling each and every single weed... At some point I shall conquer all 6 million of them!

I went in to grab some water and the girls started fussing... I came out to find Hannah (again... little Mommy) soothing them and talking to them until I came back. She is so sweet and absolutely adores the girls. I look forward to seeing all 3 of their relationships form as well! We are completely blessed and although every day poses a different challenge we will figure them out one by one... just like I pull the weeds... at some point both the weeds and our daily routine shall be conquered!

Could you say that again please?

Yes that is chunk and rolls you are seeing on the girls! We took them for a weight/height check and my jaw dropped when they both weighed in at 7lbs 14oz and 19 3/4 inches! Aspen has caught up to Brooke and they are exact in their measurements! I figured the girls had passed 7lbs, but they are well on their way to 8lbs! They are doing great and awake more and more everyday! Here they are as they have playtime together with lots of cute noises going on! Maybe twins, who occupy each other, won't be so tough!

A sneak peak at our family pictures...

When I have more of a chance I will add a slide show with all 96 pictures! But for now here are some of my favorites! If you use facebook check out my page as I posted them all since the uploading process is a lot quicker! Hard to believe 5 weeks have passed already! We are all doing well and settling in as a family of 5! (And please if you'd like to come and visit just let me know! The extra hands and company are always welcome!)

My absolute favorite! A Daddy and his girls!

As Aspen fills out and catches up to Brooke in weight the girls begin to look more and more like each other everyday and it really shows in the above picture! It will be interesting to see just how much they share their beauty as they get older!

Growing Fast!

Well we are 2 days short of my original due date today and here we have been enjoying the girls for almost 5 weeks now! They are growing so fast! At their last appointment on Wednesday Aspen weighed in at 6lbs 8oz and Brooke was 6lbs 14oz! Basically newborn size at this point! They are staying awake for longer periods of time during the day and beginning to show interest in interaction beyond eating and sleeping! Although we are exhausted most of the time we are doing better than surviving and are having fun along the way!

Grandma has been in town helping out and since we had our family pictures taken yesterday (those to come on Monday...) we thought we'd do a little photo shoot with Grandma as well since everyone matched and everything! So here are some of the cute pics we got of Grandma with Hannah, Aspen, and Brooke. (Sadie even got to participate in a few!) Enjoy!

And here is Hannah with her horse that Grandpa and Grandma Daurer gave her for Christmas. His name changes on almost a daily basis but let me tell you she has put the miles on her new horse that's for sure!

Hannah is also skilled at "trick riding" and should be joining the rodeo circuit shortly! :)

"It's the fourth of lie Mommy!"

Here we are matching family and all on the way to the Menasco's for a BBQ and friend fun! Sorry no actual pictures together as we were late and in a hurry... (But I promise the girls were really cute together... I'm sad I don't have proof)

Then off to the firework show!

And yes we had to wipe the drool off of Hannah's chin as the fireworks were everything she had hoped for and more!

Are you seeing double?

Absolutely! We attended a friends Jackson's first birthday party last weekend and when we arrived met two other sets of twin girls! I'm telling you there are twins everywhere! We have just never paid much attention before now. All of the twin "A's" are on the right and all of the twin "B's" are on the left... crafty I know! We are making fun of ourselves right now as we realize we have joined the "twin culture." What exactly does that mean? That before the above day these girls were perfect strangers yet we posed all of our daughters together just because they were twins. Fun? Absolutely! Can it get out of hand??? I'm sure! So please let us know if you ever notice us getting a little crazy about this whole twin thing OK? You know... something like starting to dress our entire family in matching clothes, or better yet... John and I dressing in matching clothes! :)
