Getting Ready for Christmas

Dad and I decided we should get the Christmas lights up before it gets any colder! Mom couldn't find my gloves so she let me borrow hers... it was a little more difficult untangling the lights though!

Dad thinks I'm a pretty good helper. I wasn't happy when he went on the roof without me though.

So Dad let me help hang some on the roofline.

I think I'll be big enough next year to get up there with him! The house looks great! I'll take some pictures tonight and post them too. I am so excited cause now I have my own lights and I don't have to go to my neighbors house to see them anymore!

Part Two of Happy Day!

Happy Day!

Hannah is Two and she has been running around all morning shouting "Happy Day!" It hasn't taken long to catch on to this birthday thing! John blew up a ton of balloons and Hannah woke up to streamers and balloons everywhere!

Then she got birthday pancakes! Her favorite thing to do is blow out candles so I'm sure we'll have a birthday lunch and dinner too! We had to re-light the candles on the pancakes at least 6 times!

Then Hannah found one of her "Happy Day" presents from Gina! We knew she wouldn't mind if Hannah opened one during breakfast!

Yeah! (Big hit already Gina! I just hope it's a good one since we'll have to watch it 100 times by lunch!)
So stay tuned..... we'll update you on the rest of Hannah's "Happy Day" as it goes along!

This time 2yrs ago...

We were in shock as the nurse said " I hope you brought your bags... cause you won't be leaving here until you have your baby in your arms!" Oh no! We thought! We aren't ready for this! My due date wasn't for 3 or 4 more days! Thank goodness for great friends willing to watch Sadie at the very last second even though they had a brand new 2mo old at home!! And here we are getting ready to celebrate Hannah's 2nd Birthday! Wow does time fly!

Some Stuff...

For the past two weeks and longer John has been working super duper hard, sometimes not making it home before Hannah's asleep. On the days he does make it home though she loves it. Hannah is to the point where she absolutely adores John. She is so proud of him... especially when he lets her cover him in stickers!

On this particular day Hannah decided it was time for another fashion show... She calls this outfit... Ready for snow, shopping, a bath, and sleep. A girl can never be too prepared!

This is what I walked into after a quiet pause in Hannah's day. You know... one of those quiet moments where you feel uneasy because it's too quiet? Well the pictures below explain why! Hannah wanted to put lotion on her baby but found the Desitin diaper cream instead!

She was very happy with herself!

Mastering the Big Girl Spoon!

At first Hannah was a little hesitant to allow cameras to view her recently mastered skill...
But then she decided to brave them for the sake of the blog...
This wide mouth move is definitely a learned behavior from John but Hannah has learned to perfect it and end up with less on her face than he has in his beard!
Picking up a few stragglers...
TaDa! And that is how you eat with a big girl spoon!

Well she did it again...

She got sick that is... Down and out with a virus that has got her good! So pray for us to make it through all the sleepless nights and worst of all... Whining!

Life gets a little easier everyday...

And sometimes a little harder too! This morning John walked into Hannah's room to find her on top of the changing table. We've known for a while that she could do this but now it was time to take action! So John went out to the shop and built some really strong anchors for our little climber!
